Summer Vacation Announced for All Govt Degree Colleges in J&K
Srinagar/Jammu, 30 May 2025:
The Higher Education Department of Jammu and Kashmir has officially announced the summer vacation schedule for all Government Degree Colleges across the Union Territory.
As per the order issued today, the colleges in different zones will follow separate vacation timelines based on regional weather patterns.
For colleges falling under the summer zone of Jammu Division, the summer break will begin from 1st June and continue till 15th July 2025.
Meanwhile, colleges located in the winter zone of Jammu Division will observe vacations from 15th July to 24th July 2025.
In the Kashmir Division, all Government Degree Colleges will also remain closed for summer vacation from 15th July to 24th July 2025.
This announcement was made through Government Order No. 261-JK (HE) of 2025 and signed by Shantmanu (IAS), Financial Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary of the Higher Education Department.
All concerned officials, including Directors, Registrars, College Principals, and Nodal Principals in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions, have been informed to implement the vacation schedule accordingly.
Students are advised to take note of the vacation period and stay in touch with their respective colleges for further updates. Teaching and non-teaching staff may still be called upon for administrative or urgent academic duties if required.
