J&K: Summer Break Announced for Schools, Check Details
Jammu, May 31, 2025:
The Directorate of School Education Jammu (DSEJ) has officially announced summer vacations for all government and private schools falling under the summer zone of Jammu Division. As per the latest order, schools will remain closed from June 7 to July 16, 2025.
The order, issued on Saturday, applies to both government and recognized private schools in the designated summer zone areas. Students will observe a complete break during this period, providing them a much-needed respite from the ongoing academic schedule.
However, the teaching staff has been directed to report back to schools on July 14, 2025, ahead of the reopening. The purpose of this early return is to ensure readiness for the new academic routine. Teachers will be responsible for classroom cleanliness, preparing Teaching Learning Materials (TLMs), planning lessons and timetables, and getting ICT labs and other digital learning tools ready for possible online activities.
The DSEJ emphasized that teachers must remain available for online student support throughout the vacation period, ensuring academic continuity if required.
Additionally, the order warned that any negligence by the school heads or teaching staff in following these directions will invite disciplinary action under the existing service rules.
With this announcement, families and students in Jammu’s summer zone can now plan their break, while schools prepare for a smooth transition back into regular classes in mid-July.
