Good News for Students: J&K Education Dept Confirms Textbook Availability
Srinagar, 14 January: Following a shortage of textbooks for students, the government has provided a positive update, assuring that textbooks will be made available by January 31, according to the Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK).
This announcement was made by the Director of School Education Kashmir, G.N. Itoo, during a media interaction at Govt Boys Higher Secondary School, Jawahar Nagar, earlier today.
He stated, “We will ensure that textbooks are available by January 31, and the Education Department has been instructed to complete the process promptly.” He further added that any complaints from parents will be resolved within 24 hours, while violators of rules will face strict action.
In his words, “As you know, the November session was restored in the shortest possible time. After that, the Education Minister and Principal Secretary held a high-level meeting, directing the Board to ensure all books are available by January 31.”
He also mentioned that for winter tutorials, CEOs have been instructed to retain the old books and assured that advance planning is in place for the upcoming session to prevent any inconvenience for students.
When asked about the violation of rules by certain private schools, he clarified that clear instructions have been issued to resolve complaints from parents within 24 hours, and those found violating rules will face action.
